In some old installations, the inside surfaces of pipes have been coated with epoxy resin. This article explains what to look out for in such renovations.
Initial situation
In some old installations, the inner surfaces of pipes were coated with epoxy resin or other reactive resins at the turn of the millennium. According to current findings, this can lead to material-borne contaminants, particularly in hot water, namely bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin.
Procedure
First of all, you should check your records: when and with which product was sanitized? To check for possible material release in the system, we test your drinking water for bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin at suitable sampling points as standard.
Result
You will receive clarity as to whether harmful contaminants are released into the drinking water as a result of the remediation.
